Welcome to Innerstand Weekly AI newsletter. We’re here to help creators & brands do more with less. Basically, we’re sharing insights on how to link AI tools together to create efficient workflows, make better decisions, and free up our time.
To explore this, we’re sending a weekly email on Sundays at 7pm NZT
Here’s an AI highlight for the week:
OpenAI just launched ChatGPT-5 on August 7 and instantly became the new gold standard for AI. OpenAI claims it has “EHD-level intelligence” (extremely high depth), scoring near-perfect on math, science, coding, and even "humanity’s last exam" benchmarks.
Everyone is saying it’s the “smartest AI ever” - although this claim seems to come every time a major player releases a new model. So take it lightly. People have already been bringing out the pitchforks and asking to bring back GPT-4o and other older models, which they’ve just done.
Anyway, here’s the benefits of ChatGPT-5 (apparently):
Crushes coding tasks with more efficiency than any other tool.
Smarter control: You don’t have to choose models—it adjusts depth and reasoning automatically
Supports personalities: Choose from “cynic,” “robot,” “nerd,” or “listener”
Free for everyone (with more access for Pro and Team tiers)
Already integrated into Microsoft Copilot and dev tools like Cursor and WindSurf
Here’s a few interesting AI updates:
Midjourney HD Video now available for Pro/Mega subs. 3.2x cost, 4x pixels. Worth it if you need crisp, high-res gen videos. Details here.
Payman is a new financial AI agent platform that allows AI Agents to manage money on behalf of apps. Learn more.
Eleven Labs released AI Music Generation, branching out from their standard offering of AI voice, speech-to-text Learn more.
Qwen-Image quietly becomes one of the best free image models around—realistic generations, stylized art, and accurate text rendering. Try it here.
Google DeepMind unveiled Genie 3—a real-time, world-model LLM that lets users play through AI-generated video environments. You move with arrow keys, and it renders new frames as you go. Unbeliebale to think where this could go — completely blowing out our concept of what movies could be. See demos here.
Emergent is a new agentic “vibe-coding” platform that turns plain-English prompts into full-stack, production-ready apps—handling design, code, and deployment end-to-end—making it notable as a true text-to-software builder rather than just a code assistant. Check it out.
Insight: Custom GPTs Are the Move
Custom GPTs are one of ChatGPT’s most underused features. Contrary to popular belief, they’re not “dumbed-down”. They’re smarter, faster, and scalable if you train them well. You can delegate specific tasks, separate projects, connect them to other apps via API, and evolve them over time. Easily worth the $20 USD/month. Learn more.
If you’re using ChatGPT for everything, you’re probably wasting energy re-explaining your context every time. Instead think of Custom GPTs as assistants, not tools.
Spin up separate GPTs for each core job (e.g. copywriting, creative partner)
Upload clear PDFs for each GPT to reference
Keep instructions minimal — just tell them to check the docs
Update GPTs as you grow and evolve
Example: Upgrade Your Social Workflow
Here’s a dead-simple way to build your own “SocialGPT”:
Create a GPT called SocialGPT
Upload two key files to the Upload Files section of your Custom GPT:
SocialGPT Instructions PDF — Define the outcomes you want (e.g. carousel posts, reel ideas, newsletter copy). See my example here.
Brand Voice PDF — Gather all of your existing IG captions, newsletters, and other copy to train the tone. Store it all in one PDF.
Write minimal GPT instructions:
“You’re the social copywriting voice for {Your Brand}. Reference SocialGPT Instructions and Brand Voice PDF before each answer.”
Optional: Add buttons like “Create a Carousel” for even faster prompts.
This moves you from tools to systems. From one-off prompts to repeatable workflows.
Here’s a carousel I made using this exact process.

Thanks for tuning in this week. I always welcome ideas and feedback if you have any.
Also, if you found this interesting, share it with 1 mate who needs simpler workflows. Hit forward or send them this link.
